Essays will be due no later than midnight October 25, 2020. A panel of three people will judge the essays, and the top writer in each grade will receive a copy of Humility Rules: Saint Benedict's Twelve-Step Guide to Genuine Self-Esteem by Fr. J. Augustine Wetta, O.S.B., a humor filled guide for young adults to build self-esteem using advice from St. Benedict's Rule. Due to COVID-19 concerns, essays should be e-mailed to KOC@strosepdx.org along with a filled and signed PDF copy of the entry form, with parental permission. All entrants will receive an online certificate of participation from the St. Rose Knights of Columbus in appreciation of their efforts.In an essay of 500-750 words, discuss how trusting in God during a difficult time has helped you or someone you know find the strength and hope to endure it. Consider especially those times when it was a challenge to understand why something was happening. Consider also sharing any lessons about faith and hope you or someone you know may have learned from this experience.
