Fr. Matt Libra was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon on 9 June 2012 by then Archbishop John G. Vlazny. He was assigned as the administrator of St. Rose of Lima Parish and Archbishop Howard School by Archbishop Alexander King Sample on 1 July 2013.
Fr. Matt was born and raised in Oregon and worked in youth ministry before entering seminary. Since then he has worked with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, assisted the chaplain at the US Navy base in Naples, Italy with religious education and Masses, served as a hospital chaplain as well as for study abroad college campuses and the Missionaries of Charity. After his ordination to the diaconate on 11 September 2010, he was assigned to St. Paul Parish and School in Eugene, OR. In 2012 he was served as parochial vicar of St. Juan Diego Parish in Portland, OR. Additionally Father was assigned to complete a Licence degree program at the John Paul II Institute of Marriage and Family Studies which he completed before becoming the parish priest for St. Rose.
